Abstract

962,561. Air or other gas-heating stoves. A. SCHACK, [trading as REKUPERATOR K.G. DR. ING. SCHACK & CO.]. Oct. 18, 1960 [Oct. 23, 1959], No. 35767/60. Heading F4S. A recuperator for gaseous media comprises an outer cylinder 12 in which are mounted vertical tubes 4 extending between annular distributer and collector ducts 3 and 5, the tubes being arranged in two or more concentric rings wherein the tubes of one ring are circumferentially staggered with respect to those of the adjacent ring or rings and are heated by combustion gases from an oil or gas burner 10. The combustion gases are projected tangentially into the cylinder through inlet 11 and extracted through an axial outlet 14. The gas to be heated is supplied through inlet 1 to the space 17 between curved members 15 and 16, and after passage through tubes 4 flows to outlet 6 which is located in a pipe 9 and is connected to the collector duct 5 by means of a flexible tube 8 which absorbs thermal expansion. The cylinder is composed of brickwork enclosed by a sheet-iron cover.
