Abstract

1,141,199. Cupola furnaces. SKODA, OBOROVY PODNIK. 21 March, 1966 [22 March, 1965], No. 12230/66. Heading F4B. A hot-air cupola furnace 1 includes a combustion chamber 3 which is disposed above a furnace charging aperture 2 and below a flue heat recuperator 7, the combustion chamber 3 having a connection boss 4 to which air under pressure is conveyed from a fan (not shown), this air then mixing with the combustion gases entering from the furnace. The resulting mixture is ignited by burner 5 and the clean product gases pass through the recuperator and out, via a spark arrestor 9, into the atmosphere, the temperature of the recuperator being kept within the required limits by means of a controlled cold air stream supplied via a duct 6.
