Abstract
The heat exchangers (22) and (23) are normally supplied with hot gas from the turbine exhaust or from a furnace via the duct (20) and the flow of the gas is regulated by the shutters (21) and (27). The liquid to be heated flows in the direction of the arrow (1). If the heat of the hot gas is inadequate the burners (28) are brought into use. If no hot gas from the turbine exhaust is available, the fan (31) is operated to suck air through the shutters (34) and deliver it into the heat exchanger via the duct (32) which houses the additional burners (33). The control system ensures that all the shutters are in their appropriate position.
