Abstract

1301671 Water heater; control of burners; pilot burners RADIATION Ltd 13 May 1970 [14 May 1969] 24611/69 Headings F4A F4F F4T and F4W] A "balanced flue" water heater has, in the air inlet duct 20, a fan 17, forcing air through a combustion chamber 12 to an outlet 34, and driven from a turbine 7 located in the water path. Water enters inlet 1 and passes to pipe 8 via two parallel paths, one through governor 2, pipe 6 and turbine 7, the other through chamber 9 and valve 10, and hence through heat exchanger 13 to an outlet 15. The gas flow to burner 31 is controlled via valve-governor system comprising a gas flow control tap 28, a gas governor 29 and a gas valve 30 on which the gas burner 31 is mounted. Associated with the burner 31 is a pilot burner and a pilot safety device.
