Abstract

973,308. Air heating stoves; burners. A. KLOSTERS, and H. KLOSTERS, [trading as MASCHINENBAU KLOSTERS]. June 28, 1962 [June 28, 1961], No. 24905/62. Headings F4S and F4T. In a ceiling mounted air heater from which heated air is expelled downwardly, combustion gases from a combustion chamber 25, which includes a fluid fuel burner, pass through U-shaped flue tubes 7, extending substantially normally from one end of the combustion chamber on both sides of the latter, into a common extraction conduit 24 including a draught inducing fan 9, the air to be heated entering a housing 1 surrounding the flue tubes at an inlet intermediate the housing ends. In Fig. 1, the combustion air enters the combustion chamber 25 through a swirl unit D over the centre of which is a transparent cover 26 in which is mounted a fuel nozzle and ignition plug (not shown). The air to be heated is blown through inlet chambers 23 by fans 4, and leaves the housing 1 through louvres (not shown) distributed along its lower surface. In Fig. 2, the flue tubes 7 connect an inlet box 30 at the combustion chamber outlet and an outlet box 31, the extraction conduit 32 having a damper 10. Heated air is directed downwards through louvres and/or downwardly extending ejection branches in which fans may be mounted. The branches may have vertically adjustable collars to control the dispersion angle of the hot air. The swirl unit D comprises profiled vanes 34 fastened to end plates 33, 35 the former having a central orifice through which combustion air passes and through which the fuel nozzle and ignition plug project. An axially slidable sleeve 38 controls the combustion air flow.
