Abstract
1,147,013. Air heating stoves; hot water boilers; burners. M. BEHR, [trading as SUDDEUTSCHE KUHLERFABRIK JULIUS FR. BEHR]. 8 Nov., 1966 [20 Nov., 1965], No. 50018/66. Heading F4A, F4S and F4T. In a liquid-fuel burning heater used to heat air or water, combustion products are directed through an extended path to ensure complete combustion before they contact the heat exchanger surfaces, the combustion products flowing from an inner chamber 2 into a concentric outer chamber 5 having a closed end 6, and being guided along in the arrowed directions into the heat exchanger comprising an outer housing 9 and a corrugated exchanger surface 10 (see Fig. 2), the ends of the corrugations on the combustion gas side of the heat exchange surface being closed by star-shaped annular baffles 11, 12. The combustion gases leave the exchanger through a waste discharge tube 15. The medium to be heated enters the exchanger at inlet 13 and leaves at outlet 14. Fuel is supplied via a conduit 21 to a burner comprising a fuel atomizing nozzle 20 axially adjustable within an air nozzle 17. 19 is a swirl plate and 22 an ignition electrode. Combustion air is supplied to the nozzle 17 from a housing 23 by a blower (26, Fig. 3) therein driven by a motor (24), which also drives a fuel pump (28), said air nozzle also having slots 29 for secondary air supply.
