1523438 Air heating stoves; burners HARRY TAYLOR OF ASHTON Ltd 31 Dec 1975 [19 Dec 1974] 54943/74 Headings F4S and F4T An air-heating stove comprises a fan 9, a combined combustion chamber and heat exchanger disposed downstream of the fan, a duct 5 providing air flow communication between the fan and the combustion chamber 2 for feeding a portion of the air flow to the chamber 2, the balance of the air flow being directed over the heat exchanger 3 to a warm air outlet 18 in the housing, and a burner disposed in the vicinity of the downstream end of the duct 5. In another embodiment (Fig. 3 not shown), the duct 5 comprises a helical chamber having a tangential inlet and an axial outlet; and the chamber 2 is closed at its upper end with internal ducting whereby the combustion gases are deflected downwardly before passing outwardly and upwardly to a central flue 4. One form of burner (Fig. 2 not shown) comprises a nozzle (19) through which oil under pressure is supplied to be mixed with air at the end of frustro-conical duct S by means of a turbulator (20). The burner also includes spark electrodes (21), a safety photo-cell 22 and a choke 23. Alternatively, a pressure jet oil burner may be provided having a burner diffuser plate (Fig. 7, not shown) comprising a central disc, an annulus spaced from the disc and a plurality of guide vanes disposed in the space.
