[Also in Group XIII] In a gas fire having a chamber or passage 12 in which air is heated (see Group XIII), a portion of the combustion products arising from one or a group of radiants is directed into the chamber or passage 12 to induce a greater flow of air therethrough, the remaining combustion products passing to a flue 10. In the appliance shown, the combustion gases from a centre radiant or group of radiants 8 flow in part through ejector means 14 and thereby induce a flow of air through the chamber or passage 12, and in part through nozzles 16 where they are mixed with air induced through side portions 12<SP>1</SP> of the air chamber or passage, this mixture of air and combustion gases from the centre radiant or radiants passing into the upper part of the chamber 12, to be discharged therefrom through an opening 13 into the space being heated. Gases from side radiants 9 pass directly into flues 10. Specification 703,555 is referred to.
