888,575. Returning combustion products to furnace. G.A.P. FUEL CONSERVATION Ltd. Jan. 27, 1959 [Jan. 31, 1958], No. 3273/58. Class 51 (1). [Also in Group XI] A fan 7 withdraws combustion products from the flue 2 of a central heating boiler through a damper controlled duct 5 having a damper controlled inlet 9 for primary air. The mixed air and combustion products are returned to the ashpit of the furnace to form the only gas passing through the fuel bed. A damper 13 which may be thermostatically or timer controlled regulates the supply of air and gases to the ashpit. The duct 5 preferably leads from the lower part of a horizontal flue, so that the heavier incompletely burned gases are returned to the ashpit.
