511,138. Heating water. PARKINSON STOVE CO., Ltd., BARNES, H. V., and ADAMS, R. K. Feb. 10, 1938, No. 4126. [Classes 64 (i) and 64 (iii)] A gas-heated water circulator adapted for connection to a domestic hot-water cylinder has a water inlet p connected to a tube u extending axially through a gilled outer tube l heated by a gas burner c, and the end of the outer tube l heated by a gas inlet is secured in a header or chamber s of a thermostat controlling the gas supply, so that water from the inner tube impinges on the thermostat housing before returning through the annular space between the tubes to an outlet q. The fins m have flanges n brazed to the tube, are square and extend to the sides of a casing a in a concentric outer shell b. The tubes are slightly inclined; the inlet and outlet are at the same end and substantially at the same level, are formed in a single fitting and are connected to the tank near the bottom. The burners are lit by a pivoted pilot jet e returned by a spring g to play on a bimetallic strip k moving a rod j to open a gas valve h.
