Abstract

1,149,162. Hot water heaters. INTERNATIONAL JANITOR Ltd. 22 March, 1967 [1 March, 1966], No. 8958/66. Heading F4A. A water heater comprises a plurality of upwardly inclined finned water tubes 4, extending between upper and lower headers 6, 5, in a combustion chamber 1 the burner 2 of which has means 8, 10, for controlling the burning rate. For full burning rate, when the boiler supplies hot water and space heaters, the gas or oil flow passes through the main valve 8 but for hot water purposes only, the valve 8 is closed and the burner operates at a lower rate controlled by valve 10. The valves 8, 10, may be controlled manually or automatically, the changeover in the latter case being operated conjointly with the bringing into operation of the pump of a central heating system.
