Abstract
1,157,611. Combined space heaters and boilers. IDEAL-STANDARD Ltd. 3 June, 1966 [4 June, 1965], No. 24063/65. Addition to 990,829. Heading F4W. In a heating apparatus comprising a casing having a space heater 1 and a liquid heater 2 fired by separate burners 23, 11 within the casing, and separate flue chambers 25, 32 for the heaters connected by rearward passages to a rear flue chamber 85 communicating with a chimney at its upper end and open to the front of the apparatus through a passage 87 at its lower end, as described in the parent Specification, a baffle 100 is fitted near the entry of the rearward passages to the chamber 85 so as to prevent direct communication between the chimney outlet 86 and the rearward passages. The baffle 100 has feathers 102 to separate the passages from the space heater flue 25 to the chamber 85 from the rearward passage or flue outlet 32 from the liquid heater. The burners 11, 23 can be controlled independently and have separate gas governors 90, 97, Fig. 3, supplied through a T-junction from a common supply pipe including a flame failure valve 91 and a gas cock 92. The burner 11 is also controlled by the water heater thermostat 79 and the burner 23 by a graduated cock 96.
