In a kitchen range having an oven chamber 45 heated by the circulation of hot air in an envelope 46 surrounding the oven, additional oven heating is provided by an electric element 60 mounted in a passage which receives heated air from a duct extending across the upper part of the front of the firebox from an inlet 40. A baffle 48 causes the hot air to flow downwardly before circulating round the oven and being fed to the ashpit below the grate. Electric hot-plates 63 may be mounted above drip trays 64 in the range top. The oven may be heated by gas burners, and gas rings may replace the electric hot-plates.
