Abstract
854,876. Burners. METAALWARENFABRIEK INALFA N.V. Sept. 8, 1959 [Jan. 9, 1959], No. 30588/59. Class 75(1). A heater employing a burner for liquid fuel comprises a burner pot 1 into which fuel is discharged from a fuel tank through a fuel pipe incorporating regulating means, the side walls of the pot being provided with inlets for the admission of combustion air, the pot being contained inside a chamber supplied with air through a pipe 4 from a blower 5 and either the air supplying pipe or the wall of the chamber being fitted with an automatically controllable air outlet means. The air outlet 16 comprises a valve 15 in the air pipe 4 controlled by a limited strip 17 on the wall 18 of the chamber. The heated gases from the burner pass through tubes 8, 9, 10 of a heat exchanger to a flue. The blower 5 also blows air over the pipes to outlets controlled by adjustable louvres 14. A second blower 13 in a pipe 22 communicating with air outside the room in which the burner is situated may provide the combustion air when the air in the room is explosive. A hinged door 23 to the chambers is maintained closed by a counterweight 25.
