Abstract

Class 64(1) In a "balanced flue" gas-fired water heater the combustion chamber 21 communicates with the atmosphere outside the room in which the heater is located via an exhaust duct 13, the chamber being sealed off gas-tight from the said room by a casing comprising a rear wall 14, a detachable front wall 16 and a partition 36 located within the casing and extending between the burner 32 and the fittings 30, 24 which control the supply of gas and of water respectively. The partition is welded to the rear wall, and sealing between the partition and the front wall and between the front and rear walls is effected by resilient, for example, soft rubber, gaskets 39 and 19 respectively. Gas is supplied to the burner through the fitting 30 which is secured in a gas-tight manner in an aperture 37 in the partition 36.
