Abstract
1,225,154. Apparatus for heating air and water. METAALWARENFABRIK INALFA N.V. 6 March, 1968 [6 March, 1967], No. 10851/68. Heading F4W. In a gas-fired space and water heater having water chambers 13, 14 contained within a combustion chamber 1, the space and water heaters have independently operated gas burners 11 and 12 respectively. The chamber 1'3 is spaced from the chamber 14 and from the front wall 2 of the combustion chamber to define flue ducts 27, 26 respectively. In operation, the combustion gases from the burner 11 pass upwardly over incandescent mantles 6, through the duct 26 and into the upper part 1<SP>1</SP> of the combustion chamber to exit via an aperture 30 to a housing 31 provided with a deflector plate 38 and thence to a flue 37. Combustion gases from the burner 12 pass upwardly through the duct 27, heating the water in the chambers 13, 14 and then exit as described to the flue 37. V-shaped deflectors 28, 29 are placed above the respective ducts 26, 27. The chambers 13, 14 extend between header chambers (18, 19, Fig. 2, not shown) which are connected into a radiator heating circuit via inlet and outlet connections 25, 24.
