In a lettering pen comprising a nib of the type that includes a flexible tongue overlying the writing blade and having a shoulder portion in combination with, a holder, the holder is constituted by a barrel for the reception of an ink cartridge and is connected to the nib by a coupling member, a feed tube having a piercing end extending through the coupling member from the cartridge to a point adjacent to the writing end of the nib. The barrel 5 has a main bore for the reception of an ink cartridge 24 having a rubber seal 25 at its front end and a compressible, bulb-like cap 26 at its rear end. A subsidiary bore 7 at the front end of the barrel is connected to the main bore by a narrow passage 11. A sleeve 14 having an arcuate extension 15 is screwed into the bore 7 and secures in the bore a collar 8 mounted on a feed tube 9 which extends through the sleeve 14 and passage 11 into the main bore of the barrel. The rear end of the tube 9 is, sharpened and when the cartridge 24 is inserted in the barrel, pierces the seal 25. The arcuate extension 15 of the sleeve 14 has flared outer portions 15a which are bent over on themselves to form grooves which receive the marginal portions of the shank 17 of a nib 18. The nib 18 has an overlying flexible tongue 19 secured thereto, which tongue is formed with a shoulder 20. A hole in the shoulder 20 is axially aligned with the bore of the sleeve 14 and with the passage 11 and the tube 9 passes therethrough to terminate at a position near the writing tip of the nib. Pressure on the bulb-like cap 26 at the rear end of the ink-cartridge urges a drop of ink down the feed-tube 9 to the writing tip of the nib. The cartridge 24 may be of glass or plastic and the parts 5, 9, 14, 15 are of a corrosion-resistent metal.
