809,236. Reservoir pens. PAIROTTO MAN - NEN - HITSU KABUSHIKI KAISHA. Jan. 8, 1957 [Jan. 18, 1956], No. 709/57. Class 146(3) In a self-filling reservoir pen, the ink sac 19 and spring-carried presser-bar 22 are enclosed in a tube 20 situated within the barrel 1 and attached to the nib section 3, the tube 20 having mounted in its rear end a slidable pusher 25 engaging the end 21a of the spring 21 and a ball-shaped member 27 with a flattened part 27b, the member 27 being rotatable by means of a finger-piece 27a projecting through a slot 26 in the end of the tube, normally, the flattened part 27b engages the pusher 25, but to fill the pen the barrel 1 is removed and the member 27 is rotated by its fingerpiece thus bending the spring 21 by the endwise thrust of the pusher 25 and collapsing the sac prior to the nib being placed in the ink. Restoration of the member 27 to is normal position causes the sac to expand and fill with ink in the usual way. The spring 21 carries at its outer end a ring 24 which acts as a stop by abutting against a shoulder 24a on the tube 20.
