Abstract
729,639. Reservoir pens. MABIE, TODD & CO., Ltd., and SEARS, E. S. May 1, 1952 [March 1, 1951], No. 5008/51. Class 146(3). A nib section for a reservoir pen comprises a tubular holder and a nut for locating a feed bar against forward axial movement in the holder, the nut bearing directly, or indirectly through at least one washer, against the rear end of the holder. As shown, a nib holder 1 has a shank 5 for insertion in the barrel of a reservoir pen and is provided with a bore 6 having a countersunk portion 7 to receive a feed-bar 2 located axially in the holder 1 by a shoulder 11 co-operating with the countersunk portion 7 to clamp a nib 3 therebetween, the nib 3 being formed with a shoulder 20. The countersunk portion 7 and shoulder may have, as shown, curved parts. 7<SP>1</SP> and 11<SP>1</SP>, respectively, the shoulder 20 also being curved in this case. The nib shank 19 may be received in a recess 21 in the holder 1, or in a recess in the feed-bar 2. A nut 4 having a rib 22 for attachment of an ink sac, is screwed on the threaded rear end 12 of the feed bar 2 to clamp the nib 3 and feed-bar in the holder which may be recessed to receive the front end of the nut. The Provisional Specification states that the nut may be replaced by a spring circlip engaging a groove in the feed-bar. Specifications 656,673, 679,783 and 729,729 are referred to.
