Abstract

653,692. Reservoir pens. HEYBERGER, F. M. June 15, 1948, No. 16131. Convention date, Nov. 14, 1947. [Class 146 (iii)] A ball point pen comprises a barrel 16 having a closed end portion 19 thereon, and an ink cartridge 26 including a rigid, ball-carrying tip 29 which is press-fitted into an aperture 31 in the end 19 and provided with a flexible tube 27 extending within the barrel. Two or more of these cartridges may be fitted, and the axis of their tips may be inclined to each other and to the axis of the barrel. Each tip 29 may have a shoulder to abut an inclined face 24 on the end 19, and the flexible tube 27 fits tightly on a reduced portion of the tip. The end 19 is press-fitted or screwed on the barrel 16 at 20. The barrel and end portion may be octagonal or hexagonal to facilitate holding and selection of cartridges where the latter contain differently coloured inks. Specification 573,747 is referred to.
