Class 146(3) [Also in Group XXIII] A .reservoir writing instrument comprises an elongated housing open at one end, a writing liquid reservoir in the housing, a guide sleeve threaded into the open end of housing, a socket threaded into the end of the guide sleeve for longitudinal adjustment therein and an elongated writing element disposed in the sleeve and having one end secured to the socket and the other supported by and projecting from the sleeve. As shown, a guide sleeve 6 is screwed into a reservoir 5, while a socket 2 screwed in the inner end of the guide sleeve carries a brush 1. The brush 1 may have synthetic or natural bristles which form a writing tip 7. The tip 7 may be adjusted longitudinally of the sleeve 6 by rotation of the socket 2. The socket 2 has at least one feed groove 4 for feeding liquid, e.g. ink, from the reservoir. The brush 1 may have a circular or rectangular cross-section, while its tip 7 may be flat, inclined, hemispherical, conical or frusto-conical. The brush may be replaced by a fabric plug or wick. Similar writing points may be provided at .each end of the barrel forming the reservoir. In each case, the writing point or points is (or are) protected by a cap when out of use.
