638,490. Reservoir pens. CZAKO, E. April 18,1946, No. 12065. [Class 146 (iii)] In a ball-point reservoir pen, the feed duct 1 to the ball has a restricted part 2 adapted to be closed by a valve member 7 when the ink supply is nearly exhausted so as to keep the feed duct permanently charged with ink. As shown, a separate ink-container 4 is employed and between its outlet 6 and the duct is a space 3 in which the member 7 is situated. When the ink in the container 4 and space 3 has been used up, the member 7 seats on the end of the passage 2. Instead of the ball shown, the member 7 may be a cone or needle.
