Class 43 A hook fastening for garments formed from sheet metal comprises a hook part 1 formed integrally with a base part 2 which is spaced apart from the hook part and is substantially parallel to it and is joined to it at one end of both parts by a bend or web, both the hook part and the base part extending in the same longitudinal direction from the bend or web, the base part is shorter than the hook part in a longitudinal direction but in a transverse direction it is wider than the hook and carries prongs 4 which tie in or on a common transverse line and are spaced apart (before the hook is assembled onto the garment) by a distance greater than the width of the hook part. The prongs penetrate the material and bend over to engage in grooves in a base plate 6.
