Abstract

885,372. Spring clips. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. July 17, 1958 [July 25, 1957; Sept. 5, 1957], Nos. 23632/57 and 28068/57. Class 44. A fastener comprises a single strip of spring material having a web 11 and two limbs 12, 13 arranged in U-shape, one limb 12 being formed with two prongs inwardly and rearwardly directed towards the other limb and the other limb being formed with a protuberance 16 having its convexity directed towards the pronged limb. In the construction shown, the limb 13 is extended to form an arm 18 and the fastener is intended to secure one or more cables to an automobile body panel, the limbs 12, 13 straddling the edge of the panel and the cable or cables being received between the pear shape. In a modification the spring tongue 20 is omitted. In a further modification the prosuccessive cable. The protuberance 16 is of pear shape. In a modification the spring tongue 20 is omitted. In a further modification the protuberance is a transverse rib across the limb 13. The arm 18 may be omitted if desired; in such a case the fastener is used for securing two panels together. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 799,878.
