Abstract

918,964. Picture frames. F.T. PRODUCTS Ltd. Sept. 6, 1961 [Sept. 7, 1960], No. 30901/60. Class 11. [Also in Group XXV] A fastener 10 consists of a single strip of resilient material having a body 11 and two limbs 12, 13 coplanar with the body, the two limbs being directed generally at right angles, one with respect to the other, each limb being of approximate U or V-shape so as to have a web and two flanges 14, 16 and the flanges of each limb being compressible towards and away from each other. As shown, the fastener is used to secure together strips 22 of C-section beading at 90 degrees to each other. Such beading may constitute a picture frame or ornamental attachment for a radio cabinet or mirror. In another construction, Fig. 10 (not shown), the limbs of the fastener are bent outwardly with respect to each other. In a further construction, Fig. 11 (not shown), similar to that shown, the free ends of the flanges are pronged to bite into the walls of the beading to prevent withdrawal thereof from the fastener.
