Abstract

880,263. Clips. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. July 20, 1959 [July 21, 1958], No. 23361/58. Class 44. A fastener 23 for removably securing a back board 33 to the back of a television cabinet 20, is in the form of a single strip of resilient material bent so as to have a body 27 and a substantially Z-shaped head comprising a web 25 and two flanges 24 and 24A, the flange 24A being of greater width than the part of the body 27 to which it is joined, thus forming shoulders 29, 30 and there being sheared and bent from the body 27 prongs 31, 32. In the embodiment described with reference to Figs. 2 and 3, the body 27 is U-shaped with two limbs 26, 28, the prongs 3f, 32 being provided on the limb 28. In a second embodiment, Fig. 7 (not shown), the body is substantially V-shaped and the prongs are provided on the limb which is joined to the head, the end of the other limb being bowed inwardly. In a third embodiment, Fig. 4 (not shown), the body comprises a flat limb from which is sheared and bent a spring tongue the end of which is formed with the prongs. In a fourth embodiment, Fig. 6 (not shown), the body comprises a flat limb from the edges of which are sheared and bent a pair of spring tongues, the prongs being formed on the respective ends of the tongues. In a fifth embodiment, Fig. 5 (not shown), the body is bowed and has the prongs sheared and bent from its edges.
