Abstract

884,939. Stud and socket fasteners. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. March 28, 1960 [April 2, 1959]. No. 11295/59. Class 44. A fastener is formed from a single strip of spring material having a snap engaging stud and a pair of oppositely and outwardly directed feet 17, 18 at one end of the stud wherein each foot has a pointed prong 18, 21 bent out of the general plane of the foot on the side adjacent the stud. As shown the stud has a closed nose 10, a pair of limbs 11, 12 and -inwardly directed neck portions 15 and 16. The feet 17, 18 are formed on the ends of the limbs. In each limb there is an external snap engaging elbow 13, 14 and the corners of each foot are bent downwardly to form four prongs. The fastener is used for connecting two panels together, apertures in the panels being placed in register and the fastener being snapped through the apertures nose first. In this position the neck portions 15 and 16 make contact with the inside edges of the circular aperture 25 in the bottom panel 23 but the whole of the neck portion of the fastener is spaced from the aperture 24 in the top panel 22. The prongs prevent the top panel from sliding with respect to the bottom panel,
