Abstract

867,420. Releasable fastenings. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. Oct. 15, 1958 [Sept. 23, 1957], No. 29869/57. Class 44. An assembly consists of an apertured panel 10, a plate 12 of the same peripheral shape as the aperture but slightly smaller, a rim 13 of channel section around the periphery of the plate, the rim being formed with slots spaced at intervals along its length and a plurality of fasteners 18 each adapted to engage the periphery of the plate in a slot in the rim, each fastener being formed with a plate engaging means and with a snap engaging stud adapted to engage the aperture in the panel. The stud has an elbow 25 and a foot 26. The plate engaging means is a U-shaped portion of the fastener having two limbs 19, 20, the limb 20 being formed with a pair of sharply pointed prongs 21, 22 which are directed inwardly and rearwardly with respect to the base of the U portion. The rim is made of rubber or the like material and it is provided with a skirt 16 thinned at its free edge and which in use rests upon the panel 10.
