Abstract

1,113,656. Fastenings. UNITED-CARR Inc. 18 Aug., 1966 [2 Sept. 1965], No. 37086/66. Heading E2A. A fastener device 1 formed of plastics material comprises a flat base 2 adapted to be anchored adjacent one end of a stretchable fabric strip e.g. an elastic bandage, a projection 6 extending from a portion 4 spaced from the base and terminating adjacent the latter, the projections 6 having a pointed free end being readily deflectable to one of the other side of the plane of the base 2 so that the pointed free end can pierce through a portion of the strip positioned either in overlying or underlying relation to the device. In another arrangement Fig. 6 (not shown) a pair of projections extend on opposite edges of a portion extending centrally from the base and in a further arrangement Fig. 8 (not shown), a pair of devices each simlar to that of Fig. 1, have a common base portion. The device may be heat sealed to the one end of the strip.
