874,812. Band clips; stud-and-socket fastenings. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. May 7, 1959 [May 7, 1958], No. 15778/59. Class 44. A fastener device for attaching an article 9 to an apertured support 56 comprises a strip 10 of resilient synthetic material having a series of laterally extending projections 18 on a side edge and an aperture 24, the strip being bendable into a loop to embrace the article and the portion of the strip having the projections 18 being insertable into the aperture 24 so as to pass one or more projections 18 through the aperture 24, the projections being shaped so as to prevent return movement of the strip through the aperture thus securing the loop around the article, the strip also having integral means for engaging in the aperture in the support to secure the fastener device thereto. As shown, the strip is secured to the support 56 by means of a hollow stud portion 38. In a modification, Figs. 4-6 (not shown), the stud portion is solid and of elliptical form and is adapted to be engaged in an elliptical aperture in the support and thereafter rotated through 90 degrees to cause a biting engagement with the walls of the aperture.
