874,813. Strap fasteners; studs. UNITEDCARR FASTENER CORPORATION. May 7, 1959 [May 7, 1958], No. 7842/61. Divided out of 874,812. Class 44. A fastener device for attaching an article 9 to an apertured support 86 comprises a strip 58 of resilient synthetic plastic or similar material, having an integral partial stud portion 80 on one part of the strip and an integral complementary stud portion 70 on another portion of the strip, the strip being bendable into a loop to embrace the article 9 whereby the stud portions 70 and 80 can then be brought together to secure the loop around the article and form a stud for insertion into the aperture in the support 86 so that both stud portions engage the edge of the aperture. As shown, the stud portion 70 is passed through one of a number of apertures 66 and through a semicircular aperture 64 adjacent the stud portion 80. In another arrangement, Figs. 5-7 (not shown), in which the size of the loop formed is not variable, the stud portions are located at opposite ends and on opposite sides of the strip and a semicircular aperture is provided adjacent one stud portion for the passage of the other stud portion.
