Abstract

1,005,269. Clamp and stud fastening. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Sept. 26, 1963 [Nov. 1, 1962], No. 41443/62. Heading E2B. [Also in Division H2] A fastener comprises a base 1 formed with a stud 3 for engagement in a hole b in a support a, with a resilient arm 6 and with a strap 2 having ribs 9, one of which is engaged by a resilient edge part 8 of arm 6 to retain the strap after it has been wrapped round an article, e.g. one or a group of cables or conduits to be detachably secured to the support a. The fastening may be a one-piece moulding of synthetic plastic material. The stud 3 is resilient and oval in cross-section being shorter and wider than the hole b, secured therein by rotation so that the ends of the stud bite the sides of the hole. Alternatively the stud is recessed to form shoulders 3a to engage under the edge of the hole. An upstanding portion 4 of the base carrying the arm 6 has a slot 5 and the arm 6 tapers from the edge 8 towards the portion 4.
