[Also in Group XVIII] An assembly suitable for holding an insignia plate 18 formed with studs 19 to a panel 21 of an automobile, includes fasteners 10 each in the form of a single strip of resilient material whose limbs 12, 13 have a radius of curvature near a web 11 corresponding to that of the studs 19, 20 and at their free ends either greater or smaller than that of the stud to give a friction grip on the panel, stud, or both. The fasteners may be modified to include stepped or dimpled limbs or limbs having cut away portions (Figs. 4-8 not shown).
