Abstract

1,165,495. Clips; stud and socket fastenings. UNITED-CARR Inc. 13 March, 1968 [16 March, 1967], No. 12222/68. Heading E2B. A clip for fastening an apertured panel 8 and a rod 10 together comprises a base 2 having at least a pair of oppositely directed hooks 4 extending from opposite edges thereof, each hook 4 having an arcuate portion 6 overlying the base in spaced relation thereto and a free end 7 extending toward the base, the arcuate portions 6 being laterally spaced by a distance not greater than the rod to be engaged, whereby the hooks can be passed through the apertures 9 in the panel 8 and snapped over the rod and the clip partially rotated to cause the free ends 7 and the arcuate portions 6 to cam over the surface of the rod 10 remote from the panel and the base to be drawn against the surface of the panel remote from rod. The clip may be moulded from a plastics material.
