Abstract

884,124. Supporting cables. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Jan. 8, 1959 [Jan. 21, 1958], No. 37390/60. Divided out of 884,123. Class 36. [Also in Group XXV] A two-part fastener device for securing a cable or member 18, Fig. 1, Provisional Specification, to an apertured support 1, comprises a support-engaging part and an attaching part, the support-engaging part comprising a strap-like portion 15 formed of flexible material for engaging over the member 18 to be secured, the strap having a hollow body portion 17 of resilient expansible material extending from one face adjacent at least one end so as to be engageable in an aperture in the support, the attaching part comprising a shank insertable into the hollow body portion so as to cause the wall thereof to expand outwardly for engaging an adjacent part of the support. The attaching part may be of the form disclosed in Figs. 1-5 of Provisional Specification 884,123. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown), the portion 15 is attached to the support at one end only. As shown in Fig. 1 of the Complete Specification a strap 20a is formed at one end with a hollow body 17b which is adapted to engage one of a series of holes 20b and an aperture in a support 1 and an attaching shank 17c is inserted into the hollow body to expand the latter into engagement with the support.
