Abstract

1,200,404. Stud and socket fasteners. U.S. INDUSTRIES Inc. 15 Aug., 1968 [14 June, 1968], No. 39001/68. Heading E2B. A snap-fastener device comprises a first, ornamental, member 13 and a second snapfastener member 11 co-operable with the first member to secure therebetween a support sheet 14, one of the members including a stem 18 for partial insertion through the support sheet, the other member including a base plate 20 having an aperture 13 therein for receiving the stem, the plate having a plurality of stem-engaging fingers 24 surrounding the aperture and formed by slots extending radially outwardly from the aperture, the apex and part only of the free edge portions of each finger being offset from the remainder of the finger so as to increase the rigidity of the finger, the free edge portions in the region of the base of each finger not being offset so as not to impair the flexibility of the fingers during stem insertion into said aperture.
