Abstract

1405526 Stud-and-socket fasteners REXNORD Inc 30 Oct 1973 [1 Dec 1972] 50484/73 Heading E2B A clip-on socket component for co-operation with a rotatable stud fastener (not shown) which passes through aligned holes 50, 68, 74, and which has a cross-pin at its end, which passes through slots 76, 78 and may be rotated over indexing cam-surfaces 80, 82, is bent from the blank form shown in Fig. 2 to the clip form of Fig. 6, such that it may be clipped on to an apertured frame 12 so that a panel 14 may be secured to it. The fastener is formed from the spring-steel blank shown in Fig. 2 by bending the legs 56, 58 at their ends 52, 54 and 60, 62 to align holes 50 and 68, and by sharply bending the narrow end 70 within the clip thus formed so that the camaperture 74 is enclosed. A rim 68 guides the cross-pin of the stud-fastener in and out of the socket and prevents it catching on the edge of hole 26 in the frame 12.
