A fastener comprises a single strip of spring meta bent about transverse lines so as to have a closed nose 10, two limbs 11, 12 and a the ends of the limbs res pectively a pair of out wardly directed feet 13, 14 each limb being formed with a plurality of prong 16, 17 which are spaced longitudinally along its length and are directed outwardly and away from the nose. The fastener can be used for materials of any of a wide range of thicknesses, and as shown as used for securing a thick board 18 to a thin panel 19. The nose of the fastener is of reduced width and each limb is curved about a longitudinal axis so as to be internally concave. The prongs may be of any convenient shape and those on one limb may be staggered longitudinally as compared with those on the other. The feet 13, 14 may be concealed in a button which is either clenched over the feet directly or on to a washer threaded over the feet. Specification 521,287 is referred to.
