Class 43 A fastening device for wearing apparel specially trouser waistbands comprises a flat base plate consisting of a transversely extending head portion 1 carrying rearwardly extending attachment prongs 3 and having one or more shank portions 2 extending from one edge of the head portion and in the same plane the shank portion or each shank portion 2 carrying an attachment prong 4 at its extremity and a U-shaped slotted front tongue 5 the branches of which are integrally joined at their inner end to the one edge of the head portion of the base plate from which the one or more shank portions extend at positions such that two branches lie on opposite sides of the or each shank portion the branches being forwardly cranked adjacent their junction with the head portion of the base-plate so that the tongue lies in a plane parallel to and spaced from the base plate and forwardly spaced therefrom.
