Abstract
955,124. Hook and eye fastenings. THOMAS WALKER Ltd. Nov. 20, 1962 [Dec. 27, 1961], No 46214/61. Heading A3H. A hook and eye garment fastener comprises a hook formed from a single length of wire bent to produce a central U- shaped tongue the limbs of which are bent laterally in opposite directions and returned parallel to the hook tongue, the limbs terminating in pointed prongs, the limbs of a U-shaped eye engage between the limbs of the hook and the returning portions. The wire hook component 1 has a U-shaped tongue 3 the sides 4 of which are extended laterally to form feet portions 7 and are bent so that arms 7a are returned to lie parallel with the sides 4 and terminate in prongs 6. The eye component 2 has pointed prongs 10 and both the tongue and eye may be cranked out of the plane of the components. The prongs 21 of an eye component 20 Fig. 11 may be secured in the sockets 23 formed at the edges of a retainer clip 22. An indentation 24 on each prong registers with a gap 25 in each socket to secure the prongs.
