Class 43 A hook fastening member for wearing apparel such as trouser waistbands comprises a tongue 2 which is cranked forwardly from and is as wide as a hose plate 1 carrying rearwardly extending prongs 3, 8. The prongs 3 extend from the outer edge ofthe hose plate and the prong 8 extends from the centre of the inner edge through an aperture 7 in the tongue and cranked part 5. The prongs pass through the material and are clenched over a backplate. The aperture may have the same size as the prong 8 or the tongue may have no aperture the prongs being formed one at each end of the base plate and one at the centre of the edge.
