[Class 141.] In trousers of the type convertible into knickerbockers, fastening means for holding the lower end portions of the trouser legs round the legs of the wearer adjacent the knees are normally concealed by the turned-up ends of the trousers when the latter are worn at full length, in which position the turned-up ends are held in place by releasable means. In the construction shown in Figs. 1, 3, and 4, the portion 15 at the bottom of each trouser leg is normally held turned up by snap fasteners 34 and conceals a strap 36 and buckle 38 adapted to secure the trousers when used as knickerbockers. In a modification the buckle is on the strap which extends round the lower portion of the trouser leg, passing through openings therein. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 7, one of the fasteners 51 which retain the turnedup portion 15<b> in place is adapted to engage a fastener 52 when the trousers are tightened around the knees. In a further modification the trousers are fastened at the knees by means of an elastic strap and snap fasteners.
