The embodiment of the invention illustrated in Figs. l to 5 inclusive ofthe drawing, includes generally, the body 10 of the` 79 garment or trousers, and means 12 for holding the lower end portions of the trouser-.legs at the knee kof the wearer Whereby'the garment may be converted from trousers suitable-forstreetfor business wear, into knickers. 75.

It is believed that the utility and practicability of the garment provided by the present invention will be readily apparent from the foregoing detailed description. The means 12 for converting the garment from trousers suitable for street, dress or business wear into knickers for golfing, or sports wear, is inexpensive, and does not in any way mar or spoil the appearance of the garment. The means 12 is entirely concealed by cuffs 15 when the trouser legs 13 are worn their full lengths, and is such that it does not mat-erially complicate the structure of the garment. The wearer may quickly lower the cuffs 15 and tighten the straps about his legs at the knees to convert the garment into knickers such as illustrated in Fig. 2 of the drawing. lVhen the garment is worn as knickers, the holding means 12 does not in any way wrinkle or permanently distort the trouser legs 13.

Having described only typical forms and applications of my invention, I do not wish to limit myself to the specific details set forth, but wish to reserve to myself any changes or variations that may appear to those skilled in the art or fall within the scope of the following claims.

Having described my invention, I claim:

1. Trousers including legs, cuffs turned up on the outside of the lower ends of the legs, releasable means for holding the cuffs turned up, and means for contracting the lower end portions of the legs on to the legs of the wearer adjacent his knees including straps concealed by the upturned cuffs.

2. Trousers including legs, cuffs turned up on the outside of the lower ends of the legs, releasable means for holding the cuffs turned up. and means for holding the lower end portions of the legs up about the legs of the wearer adjacent his knees including straps extending around the lower end portions of the trouser legs and concealed by the upturned cuffs, and buckles on the straps for drawing the straps.

3. Trousers including legs, cuffs turned up on the outside of the lower ends of the legs, releasable means for holding the cuffs turned up, and means for holding the lower end portions of the trouser legs around the legs of the wearer adjacent his knees, including means concealed by the cuffs when the cuffs are turned up and adapted to tighten the trouser legs on the legs of the wearer after the cuffs have been turned down.

4. Trousers including legs, cuffs turned up on the outside of the lower ends of the legs, releasable means for holding the cuffs turned up, and means for holding the lower end portions of the'trouser legs around the legs of the wearer adjacent his knees, including means concealed by the cuffs when the cuffs are turned up and adapted to tighten the trouser legs onthe legs ofthe wearer after the cuffs have been turned down, the said means including releasable fasteningmembers at circumferentially spaced points on the trouser legs and adapted to cooperate with one another.

5. Trousers including legs, cuffs turned up on the outside of the lower ends of the legs, releasable means for holding the cuffs turned up, and means for holding the lower end portions of the trouser legs around the legs of the wearer adjacent his knees, including means concealed by the cuffs when the cuffs are turned up and adapted to tighten the trouser legs on the legs of the wearer after the cuffs have been turned down, the said means including straps extending around the trouser legs and passing through spaced slits in the trouser legs.

6. Trousers of the character described including, legs, the material forming the legs being folded outwardly and upwardly upon itself at the lower portion of the legs to provide cuff forming portions, and straps provided with connecting means arranged between thc parts of the legs folded upon themselves and operable to contract the lower end portions of the legs onto the legs of the wearer, said connecting means and straps being concealed and protected when the cuffs are in upturned position, said cuffs being arranged to be turned down when desired whereby the connecting means is exposed for manipulation.

7. Trousers of the character described in* cluding, legs adapted to be extended to shoetop length, cuffs turned outwardly and upwardly on the lower end portions of the legs, and means normally concealed by the cuffs operable to hold the lower end portions of the legs on the legs of the wearer adjacent his knees whereby the trousers may be worn as knickerbockers, the said means including straps extending around the trouser legs, and releasable means for tightening the straps, said releasable means and straps being concealed and protected when the cuffs are in upturned position, said cuffs being ar ranged to be turned down when desired whereby the releasable means is exposed for manipulation.

8. Trousers of the character described including legs each having at its bottom end a cuff arranged to lie on the exterior of the trousers, spaced coacting and releasable cuff securing means arranged on each cuff and trouser leg, adjusting stra-ps each having one end fixed to a respective trouser leg, and buckles each secured to the respective trouser leg in spaced relation to the point of fixation l-lO of the respective strap, said straps and buckles being hidden beneath the eu upon the latter being turned up and being visible and free for manipulation uponvthe cuffs. being turned down. i
