Abstract

857,873. Twist tubes &c. SCRAGG & SONS Ltd., E. Dec. 1, 1958 [Feb. 5, 1958], No. 3706/58. Class 120(2). False-twisting apparatus comprises two yarnengaging friction surfaces, one presented by a belt of resilient material which is moved both longitudinally of its axis and translationally around an axis which is also the axis of a complementary fixed member, and the other shaped as a figure of revolution and presented by the complimentary member. As shown, yarn 13 is frictionally engaged by surfaces 22a, 21a of fixed bushes 22 and 21 and a belt 51 which runs on pulleys 52, 53, driven through gears 65 and 66 by the rotation of a belt-driven wharve 61.
