Abstract

892,791. Twist tubes. SCRAGG & SONS Ltd., ERNEST. July 29, 1960 [Aug. 1, 1959], No. 26490/59. Drawings to Specification. Class 120(2) In false-twisting apparatus comprising means for moving a yarn along a predetermined path and endless belts presenting at least two surfaces which frictionally engage the yarn on opposite sides of such path to impart rotation thereto, e.g. as described in Specification 821,460, each belt is driven at different speeds at two positions, one each side of the yarn contacting locus of the belt, whereby the belt is tensioned on its run past the yarn, the tension being relieved on the return run of the belt. The belts may comprise two sets adjustably interlaced at the yarn contacting loci to permit adjustment of the twist imparted to the yarn.
