Abstract

854,781. Twist-tubes &c. SCRAGG & SONS Ltd., E. June 20, 1958 [June 11, 1957], No. 19767/58. Divided out of 854,780. Class 120(2). A false-twisting device comprises roller assemblies 1, 2, having parallel axes and rotating in the same direction, the peripheries of the rollers overlapping to form cusps. The intermediate rollers, as at 9, 10, 11, are of larger diameter than the end rollers, as at 8 and 12, and the relative diameter of the rollers are such that yarn remains in contact with all the rollers, and is rotated by its frictional engagement therewith, during its passage through the device. The enforced path of the yarn compensates for its tendency to balloon between the end rollers. Specification 821,460 also is referred to.
