Abstract

934,763. Unwinding yarns. BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. Dec. 2, 1959 [Dec. 24, 1958], No. 40976/59. Class 120 (2). Means to ensure that threads are drawn off two associated unwinding bobbins at equal rates, comprises a tensioned pivoted arm 12 carrying a rotatable shaft 16 with two identical rollers 17, 18 bearing against the packages. As applied to a double-twist doubler, the arm 12 is universally pivoted on a rotatable shaft 11 tensioned by a spring 19 journalled in a stationary carrier 1 and a cradle 13. The bobbins are rotatably mounted on a hollow spindle arranged on the carrier and the threads pass through eyes 22, 23, 24 over a guide-roller 25, through the spindle to a storage disc 27 and balloon around the packages. The rollers may be integral with the shaft 16 and be of plastics material and have ribbed or fluted surfaces. The device may be used wherever it is desired to draw at equal rates from two bobbins situated side-byside or one above the other.
