Abstract
365,266. Spinning, twisting, doubling, and like spindle apparatus. DUNLOP COTTON MILLS, Ltd., 32, Osnaburgh Street, London, ANDREW, T. E. and LANGSTRETH, M., of Dunlop Cotton Mills, Rochdale. Dec. 12, 1930, No. 37518. [Class 120 (ii).] In spinning, twisting, doubling, and like apparatus of the kind adapted to impart two or more twists to the material for each revolution of the spindle, the cradle 2, which may be constructed as described in Specification 338,570, [Class 120 (ii), Spinning, twisting, &c.], is hung at one end from the spindle 1 and the yarn package 3 is mounted thereon so that it is coaxial with the spindle and there is no direct supporting means coaxial with the spindle, for example a sleeve, between the spindle and the yarn package. The yarn package is stationary during unwinding and a rotating flyer is unnecessary. The end of the yarn package from which the material is unwound may point towards the spindle, as shown in Fig. 1, and the yarn pass between spring- pressed tension discs 7, or it may point away from the spindle and the yarn pass through the centre of the package, or, as shown in Fig. 3, the package may be supported in a trough 11 and the yarn be fed from the inside of the package.
