Abstract

Connecting continuously delivered material to the winding - means, arrangements for; thread guides; rollers.-In order readily to effect the attachment of an end to the bobbin in ring spinning-machines for textile materials such as wool, cotton, linen, silk, and for artificial silk, the bobbin is provided with one or more oblique slits m or with a thin plate, pin or like means so that the thread, when passed into the traveller and suitably placed, is engaged therein by reason of the traversing movement of the ring rail, whereupon the operative starts the bobbin and the thread is immediately secured. A roller k is mounted below the delivery rollers g, h, on which the end is wound when the bobbins are being changed or after breakage. The roller k normally rotates at a peripheral speed equal to that of delivery so that the end does not lap on the delivery rollers, funnels i, j being also provided to prevent lapping. The delivery rollers g, h are fluted rollers such as are used in the hosiery industry.
