Abstract
729,128. Preparing fibres for spinning. MUELLENSCHLAEDER, C. O. Nov. 28, 1951 [Nov. 29, 1950; Nov. 29, 1950], No. 27865/51. Classes 120(1) and 120(3). A carding machine has a tape condenser so arranged that all slubbings run from the condensing rubbers of a series of juxtaposed tapes in a downward direction only, for winding up or further treatment, e.g. on a spinning machine. As shown, web 3 from doffer 2 runs vertically to the dividing rollers 4 of the condenser, the divided strips run downwardly on tapes 4a to vertically-disposed rubbers 5, and the condensed slubbings from rubbers 5 pass downwardly to condenser bobbins '6 or spinning spindles located below the condenser. For producing multi-coloured or mixed-fibre yarn, carded webs of different colour or fibre character are run together into the tape condenser.
